Overview
Umrah is one of the most righteous sunnah of Hazrath Muhammad (peace be upon him). This act of worship is performed throughout the year. Keeping the sanctity of Umrah in mind it should be performed with gratitude, piety, love, desire and intensity. The prime purpose of performing Umrah is to accumulate Allah’s (SubhanahuWaTa’ala-Glory to him, the exalted) blessings and make one’s faith inviolable.
Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, performed by Muslims individually or in groups, at any time of the year, unlike Hajj, and it is encouraged for Muslims to undertake it at least once in their lifetime if they have the means to do so. It's a deeply personal and spiritually enriching experience for many believers. which has specific dates according to the Islamic lunar calendar. While not obligatory like Hajj, Umrah holds significant spiritual value in Islam and is often referred to as the "lesser pilgrimage. "Here's an overview of the Umrah process:
Ihram: Before entering Mecca, pilgrims must enter a state of Ihram, a ritual state of purity. This involves specific actions, such as bathing, trimming nails, and wearing special white garments for men. Women's clothing should be modest, but there's no specific dress code like for men.
Tawaf: Upon arrival in Mecca, pilgrims perform Tawaf, which involves circumambulating the Kaaba seven (7) times in a counterclockwise direction, while reciting prayers and supplications.
Sa'i: After Tawaf, pilgrims perform Sa'i, which consists of walking back and forth seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwa, commemorating the actions of Hagar, wife of the Prophet Abraham, searching for water for her son Ishmael.
Halq or Taqsir: After completing Tawaf and Sa'i, men usually shave their heads (Halq) or trim their hair (Taqsir), symbolizing humility and purification. Women are required to trim a small portion of their hair.
Tahal-lul: After completing these rituals, pilgrims exit the state of Ihram and are free from the restrictions associated with it.
Additional Acts: While not obligatory, many pilgrims choose to perform additional acts of worship and visit other significant sites in and around Mecca and Medina, such as the Prophet's Mosque and Mount Arafat.
Return: Once the rituals are completed, pilgrims can return home, carrying the blessings and spiritual benefits of their Umrah journey.
A premium Umrah package typically offers additional amenities, services, and convenience compared to standard packages. Here are some features commonly included in premium Umrah packages:
Accommodation: Premium packages often include accommodation in luxury hotels located close to the Masjid al-Haram (the Grand Mosque) in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. These hotels may offer spacious rooms, top-notch facilities, and convenient access to the holy sites.
Transportation: Premium packages may include private transportation services, such as luxury buses or cars, for transfers between airports, hotels, and religious sites. This can offer added comfort and convenience, especially during peak pilgrimage seasons when transportation can be crowded.
Overall, a premium Umrah package aims to provide pilgrims with a luxurious and hassle-free experience, allowing them to focus on their spiritual journey without worrying about logistical details or accommodations. These packages cater to those seeking enhanced comfort, convenience, and personalized services during their pilgrimage.
